HOUSTON, June 13, 2005 \- Lyondell Chemical Company (NYSE:LYO) has introduced Ethacryl? M dispersants, its next generation of high-performance aqueous dispersants, which offer gypsum manufacturers both time and cost savings.
Ethacryl M dispersants deliver fluidity to gypsum slurries while using 50 percent to 80 percent less dispersant and achieving extraordinary water reductions not typically obtained with conventional dispersants. Manufacturers of wallboard can enjoy shorter drying, set and hydration times, faster line speeds, a greater reduction in energy consumption, and an overall system cost savings. Manufacturers of architectural finishes, floor underlayment, ceiling tiles, and joint compounds all can benefit from the performance of Ethacryl M dispersants.
Lyondell's Ethacryl dispersants are water-soluble, polycarboxylate copolymers that can enhance the properties of many products and applications. The copolymers have a unique comb-branched structure that imparts excellent stabilization properties.
