HOUSTON, Sept. 8, 2006 — Lyondell Chemical Company (NYSE:LYO) introduced Ethacryl® HF (high flow) dispersants, a new product for the concrete/cement market.

Now available exclusively in Europe, Ethacryl HF dispersants can improve workability and reduce water content and segregation of concrete/cement versus traditional dispersants. Ethacryl HF can also improve initial and retained slump without increasing set times, and enhance pumping ability and concrete uniformity. Other benefits include increased productivity, lower costs and improved concrete properties, such as improved finishing characteristics and increased compressive and flexural strength.

Ethacryl HF dispersants are part of Lyondell’s growing family of high-performance aqueous dispersants used in a variety of applications, including wallboard, gypsum and inks.

Lyondell’s Ethacryl dispersants are water-soluble, polycarboxylate copolymers that can enhance the properties of many products and applications. The copolymers have a unique comb-branched structure which provides dual dispersing/stabilization mechanisms (electrostatic and steric), which reduces particle flocculation, leading to improved fluidity and imparting excellent stabilization properties.
