Basell’s redesigned web site features simplified navigation and search tools -- and a fresh new look

Searching for information about polyolefins on Basell’s redesigned web site is now a lot easier.

“Today, www.basell.com is often the first place customers and other visitors go for information about Basell and our products,” said Mark Mendelson, head of Basell’s global marketing communications group. “With this in mind, our web site redesign project focused on improving the search function, making it easier for visitors to access technical information across multiple product lines as well as a great deal of other information about Basell. And the site now has a fresh, new look, too.”

Three highlights of the www.basell.com redesign and upgrade are:

• Product Finder, a new and powerful exploratory search tool that allows visitors to filter by resin type, market, customer application, process or trade name in seeking product information. This tool is also useful if a customer wants to review a list of grades meeting various selection criteria. Plus there is a Quick Product Search that allows a customer to view a product summary page by simply entering the product/grade reference.
• Advanced Product Search, a tool that allows customers to select physical property characteristics to create a customized comparison of grades.
• Interactive locations map, an easy to use tool for getting information about a Basell location, including helpful contact information formatted for printing.

“Our customers have come to rely on the web site for quick access to information and documents such as MSDS, RAPIDS and product data sheets, and they can continue to find all of this useful information via their existing log-in I.D. and passwords,” said Mendelson.

In addition, log-in credentials remain the same for customers who purchase products via BasellConnect or Basell Marketplace, two of Basell’s electronic sales channels.

“One of Basell’s differentiated strengths is global market position,” added Mendelson. “Our web site is a state-of-the-art platform to demonstrate and communicate this to our customers. The potential reach of the site offers product and technical support and compliments the work of our sales, marketing, and customer service activities around the world.”
