Basell's web-based Alastian channel offers competitively-priced PP grades for customers

Basell’s North American web-based business channel, Alastian (www.alastian.com), is designed for customers who want a fast, easy-to-use and competitively priced source of quality polypropylene.

“Alastian is perfect for customers who do not need additional services and highly value the ability to easily access detailed pricing and immediately lock in savings,” said Elizabeth Bozzer, Basell’s Alastian leader for North America.

Launched in Europe in 2004, the online business channel was made available more recently for North American customers. It is designed for those who may not need additional services but who prefer the ability to view detailed pricing and immediately lock in savings.

Alastian customers see their purchase price, select quantities and schedule delivery before ordering – and receive the savings. The channel provides competitive pricing, offers customers a choice of service levels and rewards repeat customers with automatic discounts.

According to Alastian customer Natasha Kovari, president of KO-Polymer, Inc., Algonquin, Illinois, “Alastian’s website allows us to get up-to-date market pricing and track shipments in real time. This proves invaluable in the volatile resin market and ‘just-in-time’ manufacturing.”

Available polypropylene grades, from fractional to very high melt flow, include:

• Homopolymers (general purpose, thermoforming, cast film, nucleated/antistatic, injection molding and thin-wall injection molding) used in customer applications such as packaging containers, sheet, strapping, profiles and netting.

• Random copolymers (blow molding, thermoforming, injection molding, clarified resins) used in customer applications such as thin-wall containers, storage containers, bottles, and toys.

• Impact copolymers (general purpose, injection molding, nucleated/antistatic, sheet and profile extrusion, thermoforming, medium to high impact, low blush, high gloss, etc.) used in customer applications such as sprayers, tool boxes, containers, dunnage, toys and appliances.

“Additional support services are available to Alastian customers at an added cost. Customers only pay for what they need, and nothing more,” said Bozzer.

Registration information and Alastian business terms and conditions are available at www.alastian.com.  Registered customers can view a full list of available products and prices.
