Basell launches Alastian, its new no-frills online business

Alastian, a new no-frills online business from Basell, is being unveiled to customers in Europe today. The web-based business channel will offer a selected range of polypropylene and polyethylene grades at attractive prices and trimmed down service levels.

”Our intention in establishing Alastian is to create a unique brand with distinctive qualities,” said Volker Trautz, Basell’s president and CEO. “The Basell brand is associated with recognised strengths in innovation, services and a large range of product grades. The Alastian brand has a markedly different value proposition.”

Alastian has been designed for experienced polyolefins customers who order in full truck-load quantities, are very familiar with the polyolefin products they use, and who rarely need technical advice from their resin supplier. In addition to the no-frills benefits, speed and convenience are among the key elements of Alastian. Customers can place orders 24 hours a day and seven days a week in a user-friendly environment.
