LyondellBasell to showcase industry-leading capabilities at Plastindia 2009
Dubai, January 30, 2009: - LyondellBasell Industries is pleased to announce its participation in Plastindia 2009, which will be held from February 4 to 9, 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India. LyondellBasell’s stand will be located at Hall 10, No.10H R11. During PlastIndia, the company will conduct two technical and commercial seminars on February 5. Topics which will be covered include: With the theme ”Capability”, LyondellBasell’s Plastindia presence will feature the company’s capabilities in local expertise, marketing know-how, industry-leading technology and cost-advantaged feedstock. “We are starting up two new joint ventures located in Al-Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Company (SEPC) and Al-Waha Petrochemical Company,” said Mitchell Killeen, LyondellBasell’s Divisional Vice President of PP & PE in Africa, Middle East and Indian Sub-continent. “Based on the company’s industry-defining technologies, SEPC and Al-Waha will operate plants which are the largest of their kind in the world.” “In 2009, approximately two million tonnes of innovative PP and PE resins will be marketed from LyondellBasell‘s three joint ventures in the Middle East, which reinforce our dedication to a region that offers significant potential,” he said. Product innovations from Al-Waha and SEPC LyondellBasell’s exhibit will include a new range of speciality polyolefins and Spherizone process-based homopolymers, heterophasic copolymers and random copolymers used by customers in rigid and flexible packaging, housewares and furniture, electrical and electronics, textiles and fibers, healthcare, and caps and closures applications. LyondellBasell’s Spherizone technology is the new benchmark process for PP production, providing an economical and efficient method of manufacturing a wide range of high-quality PP resins and novel, propylene-based polyolefin products. High density polyethylene (HDPE) resins produced using the Hostalen Advanced Cascade Process (ACP) will be showcased at Plastindia 2009. By utilizing cascade reactor technology, multi-modal resins based on the Hostalen ACP technology offer a unique combination of product properties that are not achievable with conventional uni-modal or bi-modal HDPE grades. Customers select Hostalen resins for use in pipe, high performance film, blow molding and caps and closures applications. Polyolefin solutions Also to be featured are state-of-the-art Purell resins, which are LyondellBasell’s dedicated polyolefin grades used by customers in healthcare applications include PE (LDPE, HDPE) and PP (Homo, Heco, Raco), which include a wide range of properties and performance characteristics.
