HOUSTON, June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of Lyondell Chemical Company (NYSE: LYO) has elected Bart de Jong to the position of Vice President, Corporate Development, effective June 15.
In his new position, de Jong will have responsibility for strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions. He will report to Kevin DeNicola, recently named chief financial officer.
Prior to joining Lyondell in 2001 as Director, Business Analysis & Planning, de Jong was Chief Financial Officer of eLink Commerce, Inc., an early stage information technology company. de Jong also has extensive global experience in the petroleum and chemical industries. He has held a variety of finance, planning and commercial development positions, both in the U.S. and overseas, with Exxon Corporation, ARCO Chemical Company and Atlantic Richfield Company.
de Jong earned the equivalent of a Master of Science degree from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and holds the equivalent of Certified Public Accountant status.
